June 24-28 Peter Pan

Come away to Neverland as we explore the magic of dance through the lens of this enchanting story, recently brought to life by Spokane Youth Ballet. Dancers will explore dance elements and ballet vocabulary through colorful music, learn a short work of choreography, complete a daily craft, and read the story of Peter Pan. A light snack will be provided each day. Friday will include a mini-performance for family.

July 29 - August 2 The Sleeping Beauty

One of the most beloved fairy tales is also one of the world's greatest ballets. This week, students will dance to Tchaikovsky's incomparable score while learning the ballet version of this story (let's just say there are a lot more fairies). Dancers will practice beginning ballet vocabulary, learn a short work of choreography, complete a daily craft, read the story of Sleeping Beauty, and watch short excerpts of the ballet. A light snack will be provided each day. Friday will include a mini-performance for family.

August 12-16 Hansel & Gretel

This week's theme promises to be truly delicious! Students will learn rudimentary character dance - European folk dances that have been incorporated into the ballet syllabus - along with classical ballet steps. Dancers will also learn a short work of choreography, complete a daily craft, read the story of Sleeping Beauty, and watch short excerpts of the ballet. A light snack will be provided each day. Friday will include a mini-performance for family.
