Fairytale Ballet is a workshop for young dancers with or without prior experience. Each workshop has a theme around which students take a pre-ballet class, make a craft, and listen to a story.
This summer, we are offering two week-long workshops for ages 3 through 8.
July 20-24 will be all about the classic fairytale Cinderella. Learn the story of the ballet, dance to Prokofiev's enchanting music, and enjoy the colorful crafts - everything from magic wands to mouse masks!
August 17-21's theme is Peter and the Wolf. Dancers will love this adventure story of how a brave boy and his animal friends faced a dangerous wolf! Prokofiev's score is designed to teach dancers to recognize particular instruments of the orchestra and to think about how music and movement contribute to the creation of a character.
Due to restrictions caused by COVID-19, this year's workshops will not include snacks or a showcase performance; however, class material will be filmed and distributed to parents via email.
