The Academy of Dance is committed to protecting the health and safety of all our dancers and faculty. Here is what we are doing to prevent the spread of COVID-19:

  • limiting all class sizes in accordance with state guidelines

  • limiting the number of people entering our building - only dancers and faculty are permitted to enter without the permission of the Director

  • asking all students and faculty to self-screen before coming to the building

  • requiring temperature checks for everyone who enters the building

  • requiring masks at all times

  • providing free masks for all personnel

  • maintaining a minimum of 6 feet of space between dancers at all times

  • requiring personal mats for floor work

  • disinfecting bathrooms after each use

  • disinfecting studio surfaces after each class

  • disinfecting frequently-touched surfaces throughout the day

  • providing hand sanitizer, tissues, and trash receptacles in all studios and encouraging frequent hand cleansing

  • offering Zoom as an option for all classes

In spite of all our precautions, we recognize that we cannot eliminate the risk of the accidental spread of COVID-19. All persons who choose to come to the studio acknowledge this risk and agree not to hold the Academy of Dance or any of its staff liable in the event of exposure to, or contraction of, COVID-19.

In the event that a student or staff member is exposed directly to someone who tested positive for COVID-19, we will take the following actions:

  • The student or staff member will not be permitted in the building for 14 calendar days.

  • If a teacher is exposed and needs to quarantine, we will try to cover their classes with a substitute (whether in Zoom or on person). If we are unable to get a substitute, the class will be canceled until they are able to re-enter the building.

In the event that a student or staff member tests positive for COVID-19, we will take the following actions:

  • We will cancel classes for the next 14 calendar days, or move them to Zoom.

  • We will contact everyone who was exposed to the person and inform them that they may have been exposed to COVID-19. They should contact their healthcare provider for advice.

  • Any person who was exposed to the infected individual will not be permitted to enter the building until they have been symptom-free for 14 days.

In the event that classes are canceled due to COVID-19 exposure, infection, or state order, a tuition credit will be applied to all affected students covering the following 14 calendar days. Any student diagnosed with COVID-19 who has to be absent for longer than this period will receive a refund on any tuition paid for the duration of their illness.
